| Seven (7) Card Stud Poker Rules |
|
7 Card stud is a
demanding game that requires skill, strategy and
experience to excel at. Stud is typically played
with 2 to a maximum of 8 players. There are a
total of five betting rounds in a game of 7 Card
Stud and the game is usually played with fixed
limit betting.
Players are dealt seven cards four face up,
three face down and can choose the best 5 cards
to build their hand.
Ante:
In Stud an Ante is typically mandatory and
depends on the game betting limits. Depending on
the betting limits the ante can vary between 10%
to 25% of the betting limit.
Pocket Cards / Hole Cards:
The dealer deals each player two cards face down
and one card face up, known as the door card. At
this point there are three cards per player on
the table, also known as Third 3rd Street.
After the Hole cards have been dealt the first
round of betting occurs, this is the 1st Round
of betting.
Fourth 4th Street
Each player is dealt an additional face up card
for a total of four cards for the player at this
point. Two face up, two face down.
After the fourth card has been dealt the second
round of betting occurs, this is the 2nd Round
of betting.
Fifth 5th Street
Each player is dealt an additional face up card
for a total of five cards for the player at this
point. Three face up, two face down.
After the fifth card has been dealt the third
round of betting occurs, this is the 3rd Round
of betting.
Sixth 6th Street
Each player is dealt an additional face up card
for a total of six cards for the player at this
point. Four face up, two face down.
After the sixth card has been dealt the fourth
round of betting occurs, this is the 4th Round
of betting.
The River:
Each player is dealt an additional and last card
face down for a total of seven cards, this is
known as the river card. At this point the
player has four cards face up and three face
down.
After the River Card has been dealt the fifth
and final round of betting occurs.
The Showdown:
The players that remain in the hand show their
cards to see who has the Highest hand to decide
the winner. Players build their hand from the
best 5 of the 7 cards they have received. The
